Research Areas

My research in general focuses on conceptual, methodological, and experimental aspects in the design of advanced Web and business intelligence applications. More pecisely, I concentrate on the following main areas.

Research Areas

Area Details
Research Area:
Adaptive and context-aware web applications

Description:
Adaptive and context-aware application features have been gaining importance over recent years. Especially in the context of web applications, where the actual audience of an application cannot be fully predicted at design time, adaptive application features assume a particularly important role. My work in this area concentrates on the definition of conceptual modeling solutions in the context of WebML (Web Modeling Language), so as to allow application designers to visually design adaptive Web applications and to automatically generate application code. The more recent focus has been on Event-Condition-Action rules and, lately, on mashup approaches to adaptive web applications.
