Research Area:
Business process/workflow management
Description:
Business process / workflow management aims at automating business procedures and assisting involved actors (both humans and automated resources) by taking over some or all of the coordination overhead that is necessary to perform complex business procedures. The area of service composition, in particular, focuses on automating web service interactions. I focus on flexible process support (e.g., for e-Learning), exception handling in workflow management systems, XPDL, web services, and the discovery of dependencies among services.
