Abstract: Creating composite applications from reusable components is an important technique in software engineering and data management. A large body of research and development exists for integrations at the data or application level. However, little work has been done to facilitate integration at the presentation level. In this paper we discuss existing UI frameworks and component technologies used in presentation integration, illustrate their strengths and weaknesses, and present some opportunities for future work in the area.
